I was scrambling to get things ready for the holidays. Well, its now the day after Christmas so its time for a bit of a recap. Mel and I worked really hard and got the house is awesome shape for our SCA household yule which was sunday the 19th. It was a really good party and the kids had a really good time. Mr. Benton was very happy to hang out with his Cousin Curran and just be around lots of people. We had lots of good food and good times. Monday was finished cleaning up from the party, mel worked and I did a bit of holiday finishing up of shopping etc. I worked steadily the entire week on mel's sock and was very happy to have it completed at 10pm on Xmas eve. We had a small xmas eve of just us, [livejournal.com profile] scribe_ari (before she headed of to Denver), Paul (kung fu instructor), Cousin Curran and [livejournal.com profile] public_shaylan and Brian. We had some of my best lasagna ever and it was a good time. Everyone was so stuffed that most folks were gone by 730pm. Mel and I stayed up a bit working on things and he finished up putting together the Lego Xmas Village and I finished up my advent calendar. Lego Santa Yoda for the Win!!!

Little boy enjoyed his first xmas. We thought he might not be up for presents since he was looking tired after breakfast and stockings. But he perked up and played with the wrapping paper, mel's new steering wheel cover and some cardboard. He helped open one of his gifts but wasn't too interested until things were unwrapped and put together. The kid got a really good haul of stuff. Mel was right we didn't need to get him anything...everyone else did. He headed for a nap and we enjoyed time with Brian and Shanda. Matt, Jaylee and Abigail had stopped by earlier as well. We were just sitting down to our Christmas dinner of standing rib roast, green beans, potatoes, baked brie and artichoke dip when the college crewe (Jessie, Jen and Abu) arrived. They joined us for food and we had a very nice table and then pie. We did get a quick visit from Mary, Andrew and Inara (celebrating her 1st Bday that day). Both Benton and Inara got Leapfrog MyPets from Jessie and Jen and they are really cute.

Brian and Mel almost finished co-op portal 2 but it was uber late and we were all tired. This morning Benton was up a bit early with a uber stuffy nose and he was out for a nap shortly after being up. Poor kid has his first cold. Its not too bad but he's tired and want lots of snuggles.

Today I plan on working on mel's second sock and picking up the house from the rest of the Xmas detritus. Depending on how Benton is doing we may or may not hit the Chocolate Decadence party. We shall see.

So, some pictures of things I made and Benton's Haul:

I really adore the necklaces! I have coins from before the Euro, if you would like something interesting for other projects.

I didn't make the pendants I got them at a craft fair locally. The gal had an antique fly wheel press for them. Very cool.

But yes, coins might be a cool thing to start using. I have a drill press...

I'm lame and I only have Euro coins...

Some of my favorites are French. Both gold and silver in one coin, some with holes already in them.
