Last night I ripped the entire dress out. My "simple" fix wasn't going to be too simple since if I hadn't want to keep the front panels 12.5" wide I would have just had to rip out 4 seams not 8. But I had to add the fabric additions to the side panels which IMHO will have a nice visual impact, so eh.
I used the pressing techniques I mentioned yesterday and wow...very nice.

I was planning on doing the edging on the purple/cornflower blue in red so I just added it into the side panels. Its going to be very striking so that is good. I hope to get it finalized tonight and tweaked so I can cut the "real" dress out this weekend. We have nothing but projects this weekend and with help from
ickaimp we will have the new Hrafn banner ready for Estrella. Though I think I will fly it at Crown too...I need to see who is going still and who can watch Benton.
I also ripped out the waistband on the pj pants. I had taken up too much fabric when I did the elastic insertion and that explains part of the short crotch issue. Hopefully I can tweek it enough to make them work.
In other strange news, this has been a week of death. Seriously.
1) Coworker's brother died Saturday
2)
cayswann's Dad passed away Sunday
3) Laird Mathgahamahain passed away on Tuesday.
4) The Challenger Accident, The Columbia Accident and the Apollo Fire all occurred this week in history.
I know someone on my F-list or group of knitterati had a death as well so its just crazy. Plus other crap (BOD, personal stuff with friends etc) has all hit this week.
I again stand by my stance of GO MAKE STUFF, IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER....cause it does.

Date: 2013-02-01 05:24 pm (UTC)I have the sunshade ready to have the grommets put in, and all that is left after that is sewing the hems and stake-loops on the ends. I hope to have it All Done by the end of the weekend. Which means with any luck at all, it will be ready for Crown.
