The weekend was nice. I knit and played video games. I finished Graveyard Keeper...well, finished is a weird word...but I finished the main phase of play. I can continue to do things and I might but its done. So I started Stardew Valley and fell off a cliff of a fun game.  Sighs.  But I made different choices than for mel's game so my setup is completely different.  The game controls are not the same as Graveyard keeper and that keeps nerfing me but that is okay. Its a fun game and I'm enjoying it.

I have made progress on shawl and we've now gotten solidly into Season 2 of Clone Wars.  I'm really enjoying it.  It really builds the story about what happened.  I really hated Episodes 1 thru 3...so stilted and awful.  This is so much better.  Also, I now have a cosplay I want to do of Luminara Unduli...cause she's awesome.

I did spend time with Jackie crafting on Saturday and that was nice.  But with Skylar over and Benton being spastic I was not up for kids and pool stuff on Sunday.  Ugh. We need to plan things with the kids a bit more in advance than hours. Ugh.  I just can't right now with spontaneity.  Or maybe I was completely peopled out which is why I vegged on the couch and played video games for the entire day.

I did get my bingo card for the Steve Rogers Bingo Fanfic event.  Have until December 21st to write at least 5 fics...which is a good goal. I'm going to print out my card and then put it into a physical journal so I can doodle my way through some ideas.  I didn't go for the smutty prompts so they are all fun things and I will have fun even if its just 100 word drabbles.  Its a challenge to myself.

I did finish Highland Treasure (book #9 of the year) which was delightful and quaint.  It had a lot of the tropes...one bed, fake marriage etc.  I have now started Shattered by Kevin Hearne (book #10 of the year).

So I'm tired from my weekend cause it was peoply and that was good!

The week was long with work things and the fact I went back to weight lifting and managed two weight lifting sessions and a Hiit session. By Friday I was tired and sore and oof. I did not over lift even though I could physically do more weight but I knew I would have more problems than I did. Did I have a few days of it was hard to pull on my pants or sit down? Yes, was it worth it? Yes.

Friday I had fasting blood work and I was starving by the time my appointment was. I ended up getting burritos and getting things settled at home, read some and then moved on to runnign errands for a few hours. Got back and played video games until it was time for me to cook family dinner. Cause we had dinner with Ari and Linnet and Mason planned cause everyone is fully vaccinated but Benton and Mason. It was a long time coming but it was good. I made steak, sweet potatoes and green beans. It was tasty. There was booze and chatting and Benton getting sent to bed early since he threw a cat at Mason but gods it was great to sit and chat and just hang out with family. So good.

Saturday I slept in with coffee in bed. I was tired already and that was okay. I got up and played video games until Jessie and Kevin arrived for a visit. Skylar was over for a while with Benton and they were bored cause the adults weren't paying attention to them but it was okay. Had dinner with Jessie and Kevin and then it was just a nice night.

Sunday was Mother's day and all I asked for was breakfast in bed which I got. I was tired from all of the social interaction and slept way in and didnt' really get out of bed until noon. But I got dressed, ran two errands and then played some video games before cooking a tasty shrimp and grits dinner. Mel and I have been going through clone wars. We realized last night that we had watched most of the first season. Its been good to get caught back up and we have a few seasons to go but its nice to binge a 4-5 episodes in a night.

I finished "Will my Cat Eat my Eyeballs" (#7 for the year) and it was delightful. Not very indepth but I guess its more a young adult/kids primer for it. So I will let Benton read it. I think he will get a kick out of it.

Now I'm in "The Burning Maze" (#8 of the year) which is the third book in the Trials of Apollo by Rick Riordan. Next is a cheezy romance Ari got my for Valentines. I actually put my books in a stack to just pull the next one on the stack. So that is helpful and intimidating for things. Lol. But I'm committed to getting through that stack so I can then pull a few more things off the bedroom shelf and read.

I taught at a very small kingdom collegium this past Saturday of my Top 10 Books Class. The collegium was small due to lack of advertising and the staff not really being communicative. I'm going to make a nicely worded email about it but when we had hundreds at the same event the year before and like 15 people this year...that is an issue. Time to be a good peer with good critique.

So, it was nice that I got to sit and chat with Kaye who moved to Britain a long time ago now and I knit and chatted and shared info where I could. Benton and Skylar were having a play date and were very happy to let me sit on a Zoom while they played video games. Lol. They did really good though and I got changed into my normal clothes and then back to the studio to watch my videos and knit. Once Skylar left with Bonus Ari and Paul content. I got to play Graveyard Keeper until dinner. Mel got home and relaxed and I continued to play. Which was nice.

Sunday was knitting and gaming and we attempted to get BB-8 and the girls to meet...which didn't go well. We laughed and BB8 hid under the piano while the girls were locked up. Lol.

The previous day with Ari was cause she dropped off Cornish Pasty Co food for us and that is what Sunday dinner was and it was lovely. We've been going through watching Clone Wars...still going to be weeks before we finish but that is okay. Wow, we still didn't need Jar Jar ever...seriously. But its been good.

This week I've decided I'm switching things out from HIIT to weight lifting. I hit weight night last night which was shoulders and arms. Wednesday will be legs and I plan to do HIIT Thursday and Saturday. So that is my plan. We shall see how it goes. I can lift when I'm having allergy issues if my energy is up. So that is good.

I'm now reading "Will my cat eat my eyeballs" which is delightful and fluffy. So that is also good.

Last week was a brain suck. Seriously. I was weary in the head by the time work finished up on Friday afternoon. We had a morale event with cake and icecream and then I jetted to go grocery shopping. I got us dinner stuff and weekend stuff and then put sweet potatoes in on the grill and motored to pick up the little boy who was having a rough end of his afternoon. Ms. Katy thought it was a cold...I knew it for a tired little boy. Got home and managed to get dinner made and in the middle mel called his dad who had left a message the night before but we just realized the machine was blinking. That then led to mel calling his mother in MI and well, I managed to get me and the boy fed, the boy in bed, mel's food chopped up so he could eat while on the phone (we had new york strip steak) and got things tidied for company since we were hosting a semi-kinda planned smallish game night.

Willa/Dom and Ari arrived and we took up space in the viking long room to chat and then since it was still probably going to be a while we read through the rules for Tsuro of the Seas which had just come out from its kickstarter campaign. By the time we got through the first round of moves mel was done and we finished up the game and then got him in the second game. It was Ari's night to win those games and we all agreed that Tsuro was fun and that the sea monsters raise the random level almost too much.

The we played Cards Against Humanity and OMG...we laughed so hard I'm sure I put a rib out of place. Its like Apples to Apples but its for ADULTS ONLY. One card made us all realize that the house rule needs to not have Ed every play the game...its seriously adult. The drinks were flowing and we all had such a good time which was good. I think all of us needed it after a stressful week and time with friends makes things just better. I stayed up even later reading and staying up late was just par for the course this weekend.

Saturday we were up way early. Benton was up, awake and HUNGRY! at 615 or so. Oof. We bumbled around and then mel and the boy went out to the shop for some quality Daddy/Benton workshop time. So cute...there are pictures like this one:

I managed to work on the baby blanket that is due next week all day Saturday while chatting with folks and Shanda. Benton had a good time playing with Mark and Maddy and a lot got done on scrolls. Dinner that evening was proper Hrafn style and then us ladies all chatted while mel played video games. Another very, very late night and the again up early on Sunday due to Benton.

We had a nice breakfast and Joe's and it was a good morning. Got back to the house and Ari worked on scrollage while I crocheted and then scribes started arriving and things just went from there. I painted tag team style with Icka. Then Sioux arrived and she let loose on things with much effect. I got the boys and I chinese for dinner and then it was evening routine followed by projecting (crochet) while mel played Borderlands. We ended up going to bed ON TIME for once and that was nice. Course we all needed a good night's sleep.

I did manage to install a new to us baby gate in the hallway and now Benton has full run of the kitchen, front room and family room which he's been using as a race track on my old playskool scooter. Its so cute! He was uber happy to just go round and round and round the house.

All in all a good weekend, lots of good projects being worked on and lots of good accomplished on the arts front.
