Welp another week has gone by and another house project got accomplished. Friday after getting Benton to school we did some work in the house trailer to get benches and the tables out that we needed for the weekend. After that we managed to get everything out of the closets onto the tables (work smarter not harder) and get things really cleaned up. A whole other load of things to good will filled my trunk. I finally got rid of my old columbia coat which while in good shape doesn't fit. Ruthlessness abounds. We also went around and got rid of all Compact Fluorescent lightbulbs and replaced them with the plethora of LEDs we had and OMG the brightness from some of our every day lights. Yeah that needed to be fixed.

We now have a rule that the only thing that can go on top of the ryobi battery tool box is the ryobi vacuum. And the main house tool box is now accessible without having to take it out of the closet. Yay! main closet and coat closet I ordered a new smaller bag for the xmas tree and the dyson vacuum now fits in the front closet. I still need to see if I burnt the vacuum out. I'm hopeful it just overheated or has a blockage. There are YT videos for me to look at. Anyhoo that is now stored in the closet. I then spent the rest of the day organizing and purging things in the studio. Slowly. But the room is back to rights mostly and I was able to pull things for the next day for the Hot weather Garb thing we were doing at Poes.

I managed to get myself into a shower (I was gross from all the dust etc) and then hit up my massage which was a god send before meeting Ari (after 3 tries for restaurants) for Sushi at Kazuki. Very nice evening to catch up with Ari who I had not seen since we got back. We then headed to her house to watch the first episode of Wednesday Season 2. That was good but WTF did they do with Catherine Zeta Jone's makeup to make her face weird? IT could have just been Ari's tv but it was odd. Anyhoo, headed home after that and the boys had gotten home and I headed to bed kinda early? I don't actually remember.

Saturday and Sunday was the garb thing at Poe's. We all came out of it with at least one piece of new garb/clothes. I managed to rejigger a saxon peplos from 2018 that I had bought and hated the shape of, also cut our a new shift in my normal pattern and one of the ones Ari makes that kinda hold the girl but not really? But those all got finished with a bit of work when I got home on Sunday night. I do not like my students gravity fed iron. The swivel is clunky and gets in my way for how I Iron. Its only set if you are right handed which I iron both ways. I like my rowenta thank you very much. It was my second time using it but I still hate it. My serger was usefull and we kept blue on it and light colors on poes so we had a good use of things. Ari and I bought brought our featherweights and were able to sew on those while folks used Poe's machine. Its a cheap Brother but works well enough its just not up for my ergonomics.

But I have 3 garments ready to wear now peplos, shift 1, and shift 2 on.

My head had been weird. I got a bad headache at the end of sewing on Saturday and came home, had ice cream for dinner and went to bed early after a shower. I dont know if its the weather trying to monsoon, the change in temp (we dropped 10 degrees to just the low 100s), hormones, work stress or what? I have not felt good. I had to lay down for a bit monday afternoon and took more meds for the pain, that got me through the evening, cleaning up for scribble etc but I was drained yesterday and didn't go to the gym cause I was so nauseous. I think that was from a protein bar I had that has MTC oil and it did not do my system well. I curled up on the couch after work and a trip to the grocer. I really despise my local Safeway and just need to stop going to the one by my house. Sighs.

So work is nuts, we go camping for Highlands on Friday. Its just a bit southwest of Flagstaff. So 5 hour drive or so depending on how stoopid traffic is in PHX or up the I-17 in the mountainous area. We may have the truck/trailer or the van/trailer. I don't know yet we will figure it out tonight. I don't know if I will have effort left to go to knitting but I shall see.

When last I wrote I was getting ready for a big weekend of crafts and helping pack up Linnet.  That did happen but when I got done with working Thursday I fired up the xbox for some Stardew Valley fun and called my Aunt Judy.  My mom had texted that my uncle who has been in home hospice for a few weeks only had a few days left.  So I called to be supportive to my Aunt and to chat with her.  Well, Uncle Gene was doing poorly.  His kidneys had stopped and well, as we were talking he passed away.  I was her comfort and she was not alone during this hard time but damn did I feel bad. I've never been with someone when they've died...it was very surreal.  I had planned on going to the gym and I hung up with her and called my mom.  My mom took the news very badly and basically hung up on me.  I finished up some more Stardew (keeps hands busy) and then picked up Benton.

Got home, drank dinner and then the girls came over to help me work on a seekrit squirrel project.  I will write on that in a locked post.  There was margaritas and fabric and mixing and matching trim and basically mood boarding the entire project and it was good and what I needed.

My mom called later to apologize but this was her third blow this week.  Earlier in the week my step sister found our she had stage 3 ovarian cancer.  Now, my step sister is very smart but not bright.  And her eldest sister had had a ovarian tumor removed after a very short time of issues with her girl bits.  Well she had not done that and went years with issues and never brought it up to her doctor. Like seriously?  Well, she's scheduled for surgery which happened today and she was full of tumors. They closed her back up and are starting aggressive chemo immediately.  So that is going on.  I don't care...I feel bad but some people bring things upon themselves which yeah not very nice but I'm lawful evil but if you have been bleeding for 3 years straight and not talked to your doctor or the doc didn't believe you? yeah its on you...honestly.

Anywoo, Friday we got the boy to school and then waited for the call to help with Linnet moving out of her dad's place.  OMG, he has done nothing to that house but hang religious icons everywhere and add more clutter and actual trash places. He's set up his WFH office on the kitchen table even though he has an office he could use...the boy is still sleeping on his toddler bed...like what the fuck?! the kid is 15.  So we handled that with very little drama other than Mark not being able to lift anything and Mel and I just letting him do his thing.  We got that done, moved to Ari's house and then unloaded her room into the carport, tetris'd the truck, repacked it and then were done.  Its good that I lift and we've all worked together so many times loading and unloading for wars and setting up. Made things just work great.  We had dinner with them later and all was good.

I had had a 90 minute massage after moving stuff and was tired and slept in a bit Saturday.  Willa called needed some love and company for for brunch since it was the anniversary of the death of her dad and it was nice.  Then I got home and started in on the project in ernest and it went really well. Then I spent the evening crocheting and watching TV.  Sunday was watching kittens and laundry and seeing friends and crocheting too much.  oops.

But it was a weird week and there is lots going on but all is good.

Well, work has been work.  I've told both my department and my program boss that I would like a new job.

I don't deal with stupid well and well, things are stupid.

The week we spent in Michigan was both horrific and pleasant.  I got lots of good family time with the KEMP/HUCK side of the family and I got to meet more of the Kemps but the days were filled with gross work and a lot of crazy.  Mel's gma was a hoarder. It wasn't gross in the way you think, not icky filth but just stuff. Stoopid stuff in some case. Scary stuff in others (creepy moldy dolls).  Lots of dolls and clown stuff.  I made a comment to the goodwill folks during one drop off of "we did not bring you the creepy dolls" which the nice young girl just thanked us profusely for.  We emptied a 1200 squarefoot house in 6 days using 5 adults into 2, 40 foot long dumpsters, 5 truck loads to good will, 2 van loads to good will and we shipped home 11 boxes and other stuff went in a trailer to SC with the in laws.  I came back exhausted and with a new appreciation for purging all of the things.

Pics of the trip are on my flickr if you are my friend....its family so its locked down.

UPS did a hum dinger on the one and only thing I really really wanted from teh house. THough their may be other treasures we haven't found yet (like another singer featherlight like Becca got).  I got a 1950 in bentwood case Singer 99-13 British Made sewing machine.  Its had a bit of work done over the years with a new motor and light but she looks in working condition even after they packed it wrong and munched it.  The machine is okay. The case...well, its gonna take some doing to fix.  Luckily I insured it...a bit over insured but still.

Pics of the damage and the pretty machine are here:

I also got my new ink this week. Which is healing nicely and is now annoying and itchy.  Done by Sanctity Tattoo here in Tucson by Tracy.  He did a great job. I'm so pleased.

Well, work yesterday was annoying. I was tired and even though I thought I ate right I ended up cranky and hungry by the time I got home. To add to that i managed to hit the belly on the bank counter and that had me feeling like a bad momma but the podling has recently changed position and the belly is now a completely new shape and distance away from me. Sighs.

Got home and after some reassurances from hubby i had a nummy omelet and toast. Podling was happy about that and was bouncing around. This will be a theme btw. Mel's been feeling off since monday. He's not been hungry and when he eats about 30 mins later he doesn't feel well. This is still going on and on top of that after we had a meeting with Ed and Candace on Hrafnheim stuff for Estrella he was wired. I headed to bed and he didn't follow. Baby, bladder and bad dreams got me up about 1am and he was still up. He came to bed when I told him what time it was but I had trouble going to sleep, mel and I chatted about it and podling was having hockey practice in utero. After an hour or so of that I finally had to eat something and snuggled up with mel and finally got some good sleep. But I basically lost 3 hours or so I think of sleep.

That made this morning rough on both of us but we managed to get up and moving. Work is less daunting today but I think I'm going to have to be careful to not get over tired today since I already am. uffdha. I had hoped I was past the sleepless crap last week.

So, today will be a trial but I think I'm up for it. I hope. If I wasn't preggers I'd be base-lining caffeine all day long. I think cocoa might have to substitute...with marshmallows.

Well, my stomach was icky all day yesterday. I ate little and drank lots of water and was happy that it didn't get any worse. Got home and crashed out for quite a while. Woke up to mel unscrewing siding that was in the wrong place. Changed clothes and got out to help and was told, nope, I can do it by myself for I trudged things to the dumpster. We need to do a big purge of the yard before thursday for the bulk cleanup. And the gate is really and truly dying a slow painful death. We need to get the wall done soon but we are still kibitzing over what we want. Sighs. Anyhooo...I felt like crap but I managed some house chores like kitty box and dishes...I did not get to my laundry which is now at epic proportions. Unless I want to wear a dress I'm out of clothes for work kind of epic.

My projects are getting undone but well, I guess those are the breaks. I have errands to run after work and then home to do laundry and do embroidery. I should be able to knock out most of another rose tonight...we shall see. I also need to see if I can hang my work out. That will be after errands. I know the wind is gonna make biking a chore so I figure I'll go through circuit one and then start circuit 2 to see what it entails to get back in the swing.

Still trying to reboot everything in life and not succeeding very well.

The rest of monday night was me failing at some painting. I failed my florentine color scheme #1 but did find on number 2. Then I beat the other scroll into submission. I have some final line work to do and #1 will be done and #2 is almost there as well. Thank goodness for quick to paint things.

Well, last night was trials and tribulations of home improvement and consoling my mother who was weathering some severe storms last night (she's okay...just lots of wind and trees down)
I also ordered some more shoes to try (I need a pair of low heeled closed toe/heel shoes for work too) and made a thinkgeek order which included this shirt
So much fun. Oh and [livejournal.com profile] american_knight and [livejournal.com profile] duchess_asa, geekery is coming for you too! Tee hee!

I got the parts ordered for the bath and started with the house cleanup. I got the hallway almost uncluttered from construction debris but I'll need to find places to put the buckets of paint, tile thin set and drywall compound. I got all of the bathroom(s) and kitchen rugs washed and I swept the kitchen. There was drinking and woodworking go on till late but I managed to get all of the trash and recyclables out (with help from richard for cardboard fu) and we relaxing when the boys came in at 945pm. We watched tv for quite a while and I think mel and I got to bed about 1130pm. We slept wonderfully! Did not want to get out of bed on this friday morning. Many people...including my mom commented yesterday that this was the longest short week EVAH! Seriously. Ugh.

So I hope to use all of my built up extra time and leave early so I can 1) clean the house to spic, 2)get a new globe for the light and 3) not be home when mel jerry rigs the sink. For future plumbing things...yeah, we're calling a professional.

So hopefully today will be quick and mostly painless.
