Well, I had a good time on the "me" part of the day and then I got rocking on the banners for commission. I did take a few interludes for food and reading but the banners are done. Woot!
Here are pictures of the banners that have been completed in the last 2 days.

On the 50 Books list:

I finished Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher...it was slow to start but fun...the series is a bit fluffy but it will be fun it looks like.

And tonight I will be finishing Ill Wind by Rachel Caine...wow, what a ride. Fast paced throughout and what an awesome world...though I felt like I was reading a cross between Harry Dresden, Kim Harrison's Charm series and harry potter (there are some references that are just funny). Fun and good...I'll have to pick up the rest of the series. Next on the list will be some more janet evanovich I think.

I love both series. I saw Jim Butcher in person once and he says the "Codex Alera" started off as a flame war online where he was challenged to take two horrible ideas and write a book. The ideas in question were the lost Roman legion and Pokemon.

As for the Rachel Caine series, they're all like that. I finished the fourth one awhile back or so and have enjoyed the rest.

Hey I'm reading Furies of Calderon too. I feel like it finally started to get good around the 300 page mark. Very different from Dresden files. Can't even tell it's written by the same guy!

i love Rachel Caine! (btw, [livejournal.com profile] rachelcaine...she post covers and stuff ahead of time and sometimes has contests for free stuff.) i've considered reading Furies of Calderon, but i love the Dresden Files so much i was afraid of being disappointed if i didn't love his other series. but if you give it a go, my extra-dimensional bookshelf sharer, then i feel more optimistic. : )

the banners are awesome!
