Monday yes, it was..

Well, we over slept, I spilled a drink on my keyboard (its okay), forgot to do my status sheets for my monday morning status meeting, was allergy icky all day and yeah...bleah. Got home and was happy to snuggle up on the couch and work on the blankie. I got the body finished and 3 of the 7 scallops done for one side. I'm very happy that I wove in all of the ends on the blanket as I went...I would only go a few rows past the color changes before I did that and it helps. I need to do the same on the scallops since they change colors on the last row. So I have 11 more scallops and then a full blankie edge and I can through it and all of the other gifties in the washer to send out. My goal tonight is to finish the scallops. Maybe a bit more if I get working hard when I get home.
Headed off to scribble with the idea in mind to sketch out my entry for A&S. I didn't do that...but I did manage to get the paper setup for it and I practiced the technique with oakgall ink versus the walnut ink since the originals were done in greys not browns. I'm having way too much fun with the ATC's. I got 3 more done and sketched out another one. The last one is really funny. Obsidian was doing zombie kitty with a broken neck....which sounds awful but when cats get strange and flop on the floor they sometimes look like they have broken their necks when they turn their heads around. Well, she did that one friday night with her eyes all zombiefied (i.e. she was asleep with her eyeballs open and her tongue out). It was bizarre so I sketched it and then went home. Got home and mel was being very funny but he liked the ATC's I did. Headed to bed late but I slept okay.
So, here are the ATC's I did last

I really like this one...I'm so making it an icon.

So, good crafty evening..hopefully today will be as well. I want the blankie done and shipped out on friday and I want to get going on the commissions I have and finish my Wil Wheaton sox and get started on a pair for mel...plus a cowl for myself. All in due time...just got to keep on trucking. Though the royal commission is going to make me finish a weaving project, well actually 2 but still...finish the one on my loom currently. All good.

Date: 2010-06-15 09:04 pm (UTC)I also had a great thing from Randy Asplund when he told me that following the lines or putting grids down on things that I'm using as reference helps with the scaling of things really well.
I've also been doodling drolleries in my work notebook for a few weeks...starting with a few curves and make a crazy little animal.
Bruce the Herald in Caid has a class on how to draw heraldic animals that was helpful as well.
