The war was busy and even with me not fighting I spent a lot of time walking and talking to people and going to courts etc. I did sponsor Jackie in the Novice tourney which was awesome and she did great. Dom was the last unbelt in the outlands prize our of 110 fighters. The war was cold and fires and wools were in abundance. Wolfgrim won the Bardic competition and our camp looked awesome.
Grand Court had made me cry since Sir Cael rescinded his fealty so he could swear in Midrealm when arrives. I had to give him a hug and a bracelet and tears.
We got home a few hours after tear down and court and did well getting to bed way early. Jackie and her hubby helped unload and we got props for being able to back up a trailer without screaming at each other. LOL. Mel and I have learned how to talk when doing strange and stressful things.
Monday was my day off to do laundry, clean coolers and get my stuff to rights. What actually happened was the following:
1) Water heater was out when we woke up. Mel relit it after tearing it apart a few times.
2) I get home from dropping boys at Ari's to smell gas and no hot water.
3) I attempt a relight. Nope.
4) Call Rudiger who is on vacation with new grandbaby and we get in contact with his guys.
5) plumbers arrive in the afternoon, they have fun taking things out....I leave for a massage once mel is home to watch.
6) While I'm getting pampered the main water line into the house explodes.
7) plumbers replace water line with a temp line running across my front yard.
Yeah, so by 730pm I had hot water and started laundry. Realize I had 30+ tablecloths, bedding for lots of beds, towels from the kitchen and handwashing station and then the laundry myself and Benton from the war. So, I started on that and during all of this Mel was getting sick, very sick and I was coughing just a bit. Mel came down with a bad crud and all I've had is chest blowing coughs which with my asthma is way fun.
So this last week has been hard and not really fun. Friday I worked since I'd missed a lot of hours due to being sick myself and pto. Saturday was Mel off to the Lie Nielsen tool show and me cleaning house. Wander and Ari came over to go through all of my fabric and plan the coronation clothes.
Sunday was bad as I had a coughing fit so bad I was coughing up bloody stuff. yuck. I'm much better now though and only the evenings before bed are hard.
My drawing muse has been wrangling the design for Golda's cyphers. I have a vision in my head that isn't working at all. I looked at it again, dinked around Pinterest and realized I'm trying to do a late period thing for an early period person and hopped down the crazy trail of Celtic design. Mind you I've never designed something Celtic from scratch. But using design elements I made a Celtic rose/flower and added some other things. The whole kerfuffle over the swastika trim has me leary of using any whorly armed thing in design so I had to deal with spirals for a sun but I like it. Its almost done. Then it will be gold leafing and painting. Yay!
