lungs are still fighting me. I've taken to taking my rescue inhaler every 4 hours or so to help with the dilation but if this keeps up I may need either a nebulizer treatment or a does of steroids. My blood ox is around 93-94 which is pretty normal for me. I'm just on the struggle bus of breathing and it makes me tired. I managed a long work day yesterday. Got a few things done which was good. Things are still just weird there and I'd really like my fellow coworkers and suppliers to take more than 1 dot in reading comprehension that would make me happier. :(

But yeah I've mostly been existing and playing video games when not working or sleeping. I managed to only take a 30 min nap yesterday. I'm not sure I will be that lucky today. My lungs hurt.

I did finish Book 7 for the year Demon Magic and a Martini (Guild Codex #4). I pulled up the next book on the kindle but I need to read through some physical books on my TBR pile cause its precariously above my head on the windowsill. So I hope to pull out my Lore Olympus hardcovers, some cozy knitting mysteries. and a few other items in between reading the ebook. I also need to figure out my summer reading while at the northern house. Dragging physical books is a PITA but I'm trying to not feed the Amazon pockets. I need to look at the other apps and get my library card working again on their app.

So yeah surviving...and bleah I want a nap.

I've been working my ass off figuratively and mentally. Work has been a brain drain and I've not be easy on my body with workouts, running, eating well and nailing things like my macros and step counts. So, Friday I expected to pick up MEl and the boy and head to Kingman for Crown and came home to mel passed out on the couch with a really, really bad cold. huh. Well, I got the boy, rearranged travel plans and left with Ari instead. It was a girls trip which was what we needed but didn't know. Took the car which likes to go fast and after a really slow dinner in casa grande we got to Kingman at 11pm. I beat the goggle estimate for when we would arrive. *Achievement Unlocked* LOL.

We were zonked and in bed by 1145pm. Got up the next day and after a good hotel breakfast with Sir Neo and his folks we got to site and got things arranged to setup. It was then we discovered that the canvas that Jackie had picked up from Ed in October but we didn't set up at 2 events in a row due to the first being rained out and the second we didn't have people at, was in fact Ed's tent. But Ari figured it out and we had a tent that cosplayed as a shade for the day. It worked. Our new banners all looked awesome and I took video and pictures.

It was weird not fighting in the tourney or really being fought for...I haven't' fought in crown in a while though I think that may change coming up. It was also a strange crown with not a lot of the usual subjects entered and some of the old school dukes were having a really good day. In the end Franbald beat Brian in the finals and we have a new prince and princess. I handlede scribe stuff but by the end of the day I was tired, sunburned and windburned and was done with people. I had not eaten enough on Friday or on Saturday so by the time we sat down at dinner at the Rickety Cricket I was hangry. I ate my dinner when it arrived and then ordered a set of wings. I hate wings..I loved these...the sauce had crack. The beer was really tasty too. Dom, Ari and I then ventured to the vigil for Boy-type Ari where I had a Russian Carriage Bomb (shot of vodka, drop a shot of kahulua into a half bottle of Old Rasputin and chug) and then we talked to Ari after he finished snaking his plumbing (wow...what an awesome guy...I'd have called a plumber) and then we took a bog burial photo. I will try to find the pictures of that but me and Ari snuggled up on Dom with us holding a sword and Amiee Douglas had it setup to take pictures from above...its neat. Got into the car and I was stuffy from the mesquite fire.

The wind dried me out and we were in bed by 10pm...easily after showers to wash off the mesquite stink. Ugh. I'm so allergic and that explains things later. Sunday we got up, packed, breakfasted and out to site for Ari's Laureling and then we packed up and left. Got on the road and was home by 5pm. Mel was still sick but better. Benton had watched way too much TV all weekend but sometimes you need that. I got groceries and then got home and started to feel sniffly. I got my netipot out for my shower and was in bed a bit late but did not sleep well. Woke up stuffy and a bit bleary and my chest which had been tightening was really bad. I kept taking my rescue inhaler and that didn't seem to make a dent. Go through about half a day of work and went home and went to bed for a 3 hour nap. Just taking my bra off took pressure off my chest and laying down helped as well.

I decided that working from home on Tuesday was good and got Benton to school stuff and then worked....chest and breath still labored but I was a bit better. Called the doc and got an appointment and was the 4th person she saw that day for an allergy flair. We changed up my controller med from Advair to Symbicort. My advair dosage had been upped 2 weeks ago and that was not helping much and its lactose based which with me going dairy free was not a good plan. Got symbicort and that seems to make things much better this AM. yay!

But I've now lost productivity since I was supposed to be painting on a scroll last night but I will recover and be working on things throughout the weekend as well as making sausage for Estrella Breakfasts and hopefully making myself some more pants (flannel Rus) and a dress (warm wool to put over things). But we shall see.

Just need to keep lists and keep on moving.

Well, work was quick. I was tired by the end though and dragged myself to the gym. The gym was oddly busy for a Tuesday afternoon. Even Bob, the gym manager, commented that it was odd. So, I didn't get into the weight room cause it was full so I hit the machines for a chest and shoulder workout. Had a good run of them, worked hard and pushed myself a bit with a few machines I don't normally use. Then I hopped into a now usable weight room and did 2 pullups with only 55 pounds of assist. Go me. Since I had a schedule for the evening I headed out after chatting with Bob a bit. I like that guy. He is the ultimate encouraging smile and makes you feel good about yourself and being at the gym, no matter the skill level.

Headed out and stopped at Ari's to pick up scrolls for Wander and then home. Mel was playing video games after just getting out the the hot shop for an hour. I changed into nicer clothes and managed to weave in all of the ends on the 3 scallops I had done before we had to leave for dinner. Met with a small family crew at Cafe Alisah's (Bosnian Cuisine) way up on the west side. Wow, good food. Mel took home left overs which tells you portion size...course he did eat almost all of his 15 sausage meal. My only issue was that there were 3 large groups and I basically was in the hum of the noise and couldn't really take part in the conversations. I had my knitting and that was okay but I was so tired by the time we left..such good food though we will be back. So tired in fact that I hit the showers upon getting home and then only read a bit before I was asleep and apparently snoring up a storm.

I awoke okay but still very tired. My lungs and my throat have been very scratchy and sore from allergies and draining. There is a fertilizer fire near our plant and the air isn't too great coming into work. Bleah. I am not heading to the gym today. I've already hit the inhaler once and I think I will be again...plus they are painting in the building so the asthmatic is screwed. I need to work hard on the blanket tonight so I can get going on the commission work. Mel and I had to decide on trim colors and then get things going on the trim. I hope to get all of the under clothes cut out this weekend so I can sew things for first fittings at Dante's Inferno. But to do all of that I need to clean up my studio. Thursday night will be busy with that and getting things set out.

Oh, to Tucson Knitters, the WWKIP* day is Saturday. Come and KIP^ with us at Beyond Bread information here.

Well 5miles, 15 mph. It felt really good. My lungs are still not in great shape. They were still tightening. It was just a bit over 100 degrees out. But I did okay. No coughing and the knee didn't even notice which was really good. Course now the coughing starts but that is okay.

Had fun playing with the gps on the way home. The boys (Eric and drew) were very smitten with my phone. The battery did really well sitting in my locker but I should put the phone in airplane mode for good measure since the part of our building has wifi. Which means that the iPhone will keep searching for it and trying to connect to it. Which is utterly useless since I'm a quarter mile away. Ok. I exaggerate it's not that far away. But it sure seems like it.

Well, it's time to put away laundry and get some dinner.

Made it through work but only after hitting my inhaler after lunch. It was needed. Got home and then mel and I headed to the Tucson CSA to pick up our shares. We got a bunch of arugula, potatoes, a cactus pad, onions, oranges, potatoes, beets (eewwww...I think they will be pickled ala alton brown), gorgeous eggplant, a bunch of beans and for extra we got green tomatoes. We also picked up some goat cheese feta and chipotle chile soft goat cheese. After that we headed to 17th street market and I got RHUBARB!!! There will be pie for game night! I bought about 5 pounds worth and I'll go back next week for more. Mel also picked up a couple of yellow snapper and he's steaming them up with herbs and making fried green tomatoes and onions. It smells nummy.

I'm going to contemplate the embroidery tonight and relax. The lungs are fighting me and I think a benadryl will be in the future. I'm tired and tomorrow I have to give a presentation so more rest would be good.
ianuk: (lazycat)
Well, I slept fitfully after the last post. Though faye coming into the bedroom periodically was kinda cute...I think she was chasing the cats. I was coughing most of the night and was up a few times for about an hour or so cause laying down was making it worse. Plus, listening to myself wheeze is not my fav thing in the world when trying to fall asleep. I'm very tired and I think work will be a challenge but I'm gonna try to make it. Course we overslept by 20mins and I'm sure we're both tired due to my coughing..sorry honey.

For those that saw my kewl coffee shirt yesterday, you can still get one, albeit at a higher price than I paid, at Cup of Freedom. I'm gonna wear mine to the GI Joe movie when it comes out.

Well, time to slog through emails and then attempt to get a few things done. Then home to pick up the hubby and drive to the CSA to pick up groceries thanks to [livejournal.com profile] swordmage. All good. I'm pretty sure I will not be at practice. Which makes me unhappy. Grrr.
ianuk: (bike)
I had decided in the afternoon that I was going to bike. I didn't care that it was windy, I didn't care that it was 100ºF, I didn't care that I was gonna do hills, I was going out. I even saw Maliaus out on his bike and that was my true sign that I needed to go on my bike.

Mel and I cleaned and he promised to vacuum while I was gone and I was happy with that. I was going to do a long hilly ride, basically to harrison, past Ed's to irvington and back home. It started out well enough and I made good time to the big hill on golf links. Then my lungs started to get tight and by the time I made it up the hill things weren't working right. I was wheezing and had started coughing and I had to stop around the corner at harrison in the shade for a while. I rested, cleared my lungs and then headed down harrison. I really should have just stopped and called for help but I biked down past ed's, just to the horse ranch and I had to stop and couldn't get my breath. I slowly made it around back to ed's (over a mile) and I arrived wheezing, coughing and bad at [livejournal.com profile] duches_asa door.

Candace, I'm sorry if I scared the crap out of you but mel was very happy that you were home, cause he was very concerned. Thank you and give vorja hugs for the help and comfort and use of the phone. Mel got me home and I collapsed on the floor for a bit. Then I changed clothes and curled up on the couch and fell asleep. I awoke when folks turned up for scribble and I'm not doing anything. I'm headachey and tired and I think after this piece of toast I'm going to entrust the house to the guest and go to bed.

I think I went 7 miles..I'm sure it was something icky like 12mph. Suck, but at least I got out.

Weekend in review - Exhausting and too many uses of my rescue inhaler. Did not get enough [livejournal.com profile] public_shaylan but we cope. Event was fun, feast was good..mel was sickish (brain drain and body drain) so I was the brain all day. We left about an hour before things ended cause the drugs for the day had been exhausted and I needed to be horizontal. I slept for 12 hours and was very disorientated in the morning. Had family breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] richarddbrewer and then off to the meetings for the day. Laptop was good minus getting distracted on cuteoverload. Got done and gladly went home after some purchases and had more richard time and got to rest. We went to a BBQ and stayed way later than planned and then my insomnia hit. I finally got out of bed about 230am and read until it was time to go to work. Then I get to work and my PC is dead. I'm squatting in another cube while they hopefully recover my harddrive...I hope they do...I have lots of stuff on there that I need. Not sure when I will leave work today but I'll just have to see how long I last. I'm doing okay but we'll see if I can make it 10 hours. Mel did comment that I looked more myself this morning (without sleep) than I did all of the past week.

EDIT Noon I gots the pc back and it had a bad part of the registry...plus I now have a backup harddrive that I will be loading things onto for saving. I about flipped when I saw that I could have lost the harddrive and we can't have backups here.

Well, I have the beginning stages of bronchitis...which hasn't gotten too bad I guess due to all of the asthma stuff I'm on. Doc gave me a z-pack and cough syrup and sent me home. I went to joe's for lunch while my scrips were being filled. Jackie and the girls made sure I was comfy and made sure to tell me that my husband needs to take care of me. I laughed, had a very spicy burrito and got the scrips and am now home.

We are still having scribble...I'm not contagous and mel said he would clean the house up...I'm gonna sleep for now and see how I'm doing. But the house is open for everyone.

Well, just got off of the phone with Fed EX and they said they have to make the first delivery attempt per Apples policy and then I can change the routing...but that would be for next day delivery or hold at site for me to pick up. Sighs. Eh, I'll cope. I don't really have time to mess with it tonight anyway.

Yesterday was good. Work was productive and I got many things off my plate just to be told that the second course is on its way. The only annoying thing about the whole day was that my breathing was not great and I had forgotten my inhaler in my biking backpack. I got home more than winded and laid down and took meds. I guess I was so oxydep'd that I fell asleep. That was okay. I had a good nap and had some dinner and then slowly got through my to do list. I was able to get dishes done, last garb laundry completed, book finished, necklace strung, banners serged and time with the hubby watching the Kim Possible Marathon. [livejournal.com profile] archer64 is borrowing my truck for a few days...so if you see her out an and about realize he's driving her. Got to bed a reasonable hour and slept well.

Today will be finishing up some tasks and the packing for WI and cleaning the house. We hope to make it to class but we shall see. Need to figure out arrangements for tomorrow which may involve Richard, the airport and Fed Ex. We shall see. Breathing is better but I've already had one hit on the inhaler.

Well, off to engineering things.

EDIT 10AM I get to pick up my laptop at fedex tonight.!!!

We got going about an hour later than planned, had a nice A&W lunch and then were on site without any issues. W[livejournal.com profile] lferion had just finished putting up the BC and then we headed to put up our camp. The asthma was not a happy camper and I had to keep taking frequent breaks. Got ourselves settled and then set in to wait for [livejournal.com profile] archer64...who after trials and tribulations was there just after dark. We had good help and got him settled in and very much enjoyed the nummy beef and barley stew he had made. Got up the next morning and had a very leisurely morning and then got ready for court. I took a lot of photos throughout the day and I'll have them up at some point soon. It was neat to explain to a lot of people about crown since a lot of ysgie's this was their first crown. [livejournal.com profile] lferion did a marvelous job heralding and we now have heirs to the aten throne of [livejournal.com profile] american_knight and [livejournal.com profile] duchess_asa! I was very tired by the time the feast/bbq rolled around. After food and a nummy double bock it was time to heat up some mead and have a nice camp fire. Enjoyed the company and chatting a bit with the homeland security guys that drove through. Went to bed late and rose a bit early. Nice morning of coffee and breakfast and chatting. The day started well, the knighting was nice and the tourney's ran well. Ivan is now once again warlord even though the silly boy wasn't gonna fight. the finals with him and cassimir were hilarious. Closing court was short and sweet and then we started packing. About 2 hours later we were finalizing the last of the packs (thanks to lots of help) and then it was A&W for drinks and the final drive home. Got home, had good help unloading and then dinner with Wander. Finally in showers and in bed by 1030pm.

The bike ride this morning was shorter than planned and my asthma is still not happy. Mel's reading and I've got rods drying for glass work. Need to get my torch set up and the kiln on and should be making beads soon. I'm tired though (oxydep) and keep thinking a nap would be good too.
ianuk: (overwhelmed)
Ugh. Its been touch and go for the last day or so. I was doing pretty good last night after I got home. I slept for over an hour and then mel was kind enough to make us a comfort food dinner of pancakes and eggs. CJ came over with Ally and butterfly wasn't too keen on that. Obsidian was curious but kept getting upset since butterfly was upset. Cj left and Ari arrived. Ari and I chatted about bone carving and then she and mel got to work on casting. Unfortunately, they found a problem in the yard. We had an outdoor kitty we would see from time to time and it got locked in the baronial trailer on saturday night by accident. On sunday when it was opened it flew out and out of the park. Well, we found out that it was a she and she had 4 kittens in the yard under the wheels for richard's cart. With some neighborly nursing help we got them fed and ari was nice enough to take them home and feed them. If anyone in the Tucson area would like to foster them they are about 4 weeks old. Please contact mistress ari before noon today.

I kinda had a break down after ari left. I feel bad and sad that we couldn't take them and that somehow (even though I know its not) I feel that its our fault their momma got locked in the trailer. I was okay after a little while but the stress of the work week, oxygen deprivation and exhaustion just didn't mix well with cute little babies. Got to bed way later than expected and my lungs still hurt.

It feels like some one took a bottle cleaner to them and scrubbed them too hard. I hope I don't have to take my inhaler too much today. It doesn't have the side effects of albuterol but its still very drying on my throat. Mel and I are pretty sure the my sulfur exposure due to the furnace being on on monday is mostly to blame since everything had been very under control until them. I need to make sure to shut my studio window or turn on the exhaust fan this weekend so when charlie comes over to work on more stuff it won't get into the house.

Tonight we have dinner with Storvarr and his parents to discuss the apprentice stuff. We're going to mei hon so hopefully the hot and sour soup works on my asthma as well. I haven't even begun packing for barmaids but we have friday off so hopefully that will work. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm fighting or not. If I still feel like this I won't be.
ianuk: (don't wanna)
Ugh...so I have allergy driven coughing asthma and well its not being kind to me today. I have been out of breath most of the day and hit the inhaler quite a few times. So, I'm thinking no bike ride for me and when I get home (after kinkos) I'm gonna take a nap and watch the world go by.

Well, work progressed pretty well. I was finally able to get my self heard about the issues we have been having with our Italian hardware and there will be a meeting in person with the buyer to discuss this. Yeah. Got a few other things done and another 3 iterations on my mass sim model. Ugh. I wish Pro/E would show things dynamically so I could just shrinkwrap what I want and make my damn model versus make it, think about it, get an SLA built and then hope it fits. UGH! Got home in a pretty good mood but the wind was fierce. I changed into biking clothes and waited for mel to get home. Yup...the wind was bad. I got on my bike and tried to do the 10.5 but the wind literally was taking the breath out of me and I probably need to start taking my inhaler with me. I was horse and out of breathe by the time I finished 6.5 miles. I made my self a potroast sammich and then took a nap. I hadn't expected to sleep past 20mins but I was out for almost an hour and felt groggy afterwards. Mel left for practice and I got moving, first changing into comfy clothes and then getting to the calligraphy. I got it lined out and then did it in one try. Not bad since I haven't done any full texts since October. Then I finished up my cypher except for one little space of black work (my hands were just too tired). I decided that I was too tired and a bit strung out to watch Steel Magnolias and I have a hard time watching the end even in a good mood. I got a shower and then snuggled in to read. Mel got home a bit early and kept checking to see if I was awake since my eyelids kept drooping. I read a good long ways since I've only been making about 5-10pages on recent evenings. I fell asleep about 30secs after my head hit the pillow.

Today I need to make a photocopy of the text and design and then get it to kinko's for cardstock. I just need to clean it up a bit. I've got lots of little things that need to be done at work and I'm working on getting them off of my plate. I need to feed Kae's cats, go on a bike ride, make copies and help folks with research tonight. I also hope to get some bead stuff done. We shall see.
